We have designed this FAQ page to answer all of your questions relating to how to shop and care for your wig or hairpiece.

I will be having chemotherapy. Do you carry both wigs and scarves?

Yes, we carry wigs and a nice selection scarves. Do visit our boutique prior to starting your treatments. This will allow us time to find the most appropriate wig and headwear that suits you and your lifestyle. Our customers tell us their wig choices have even fooled family and friends!

Do you provide phone orders?

Yes, Please call with your style number ready. And a email with payment instructions will be sent.

How do I take care of my Synthetic Hair?


WE RECOMMEND WASHING YOUR SYNTHETIC HAIR EVERY 6-8 WEARS


Step 1: Detangle
Before you wash, make sure you carefully detangle the hair using a wide tooth comb. Start from ends and work toward the root to decrease shedding.

Step 2: Rinse
Use lukewarm water and rinse from roots to ends.

Step 3: Shampoo
Fill a basin or sink with lukewarm water, add about a 50p size of Synthetic wig shampoo to the water, then fully submerge your wig, gently dip and swirl the wig to clean.
If your wig has a hand-tied cap construction, its best not to submerge, but to loosen shampoo in your hands and work through the hair, making sure that the hair is travelling in the same direction. DO NOT rub hair as this may cause tangling.

Step 4: Rinse
Rinse thoroughly under cool running water until water runs clear

Step 5: Condition
Fill a basin or sink with lukewarm water, add about a 50p size of Synthetic wig conditioner to the water, then fully submerge your wig, gently dip and swirl the wig to condition. If your wig has a hand-tied cap construction, its best not to submerge, but to gently lather the hair with a small amount of Synthetic Conditioner taking care not to go to near the hantied knots, also making sure that the hair is travelling in the same direction. Do NOT rub hair as this may cause tangling.

Step 6: Rinse
Let lukewarm water flow in the same direction of the hair to avoid tangling. Squeeze and press the hair; do NOT wring. Tip: Towel blot to remove excess water.
Step 7: Dry
Air dry on a folding wig stand, Do NOT BLOWDRY and Do NOT use heat to style synthetic fibre (curling irons, flat irons or blow dryers) this will damage your Synthetic wig
*if your wig is a Heat Stylable synthetic wig then please seek advice from your Liberty Hairshop consultant.

Tip:
Gently part the hair with a wide-tooth comb before wig dries

How do I take care of my Human Hair?

WE RECOMMEND WASHING YOUR HUMAN HAIR EVERY 6-8 WEARS
*Tangling/matting that occurs after months of wear is due to improper care

Step 1: Detangle
Before you wash, make sure you carefully detangle the hair using a wide tooth comb. Start from ends and work toward the root to decrease shedding.

Step 2: Rinse
Use lukewarm water and rinse from roots to ends.
*Liberty Hairshop recommend using Shampoo & Conditioners on your human hair wigs that are sulphate and paraben free.

Step 3: Shampoo
Loosen shampoo, designed to be used on HUMAN HAIR, in your hands and work through the hair while making sure that the hair is travelling in the same direction. DO NOT rub hair as this may cause tangling

Step 4: Rinse
Rinse thoroughly in cool running water until the water runs clear

Step 5: Condition
Apply Conditioner designed to be used on HUMAN HAIR, avoiding the base of the wig or hairpiece (applying conditioner to the base/cap may weaken the knots). Using your fingers, work conditioner through mid-lengths and ends for 3-5 minutes. Leave in for a few minutes before rinsing. Tip: If dry or damaged, use a deep conditioner

Step 6: Rinse
Let lukewarm water flow in the same direction of the hair to avoid tangling. Squeeze and press the hair; do NOT wring.

Step 7: Dry
Towel blot to remove excess water, then gently remove any tangles using your Paddle Brush or Wide Tooth Comb. If possible leave to about 80% dry before styling. If blowdrying dry the inside of cap to tighten hair knots. Before styling the hair, spray with a heat protection spray and if using heat try not to go above 140 degrees especially on blonde based colours. When brushing be gentle and go from bottom up as pulling at hair will contribute to shedding.

*Human hair must be dried and styled after washing. Solely air-drying will leave the hair ‘un-polished’ and can trap water in the hair causing frizzing

NOTES
All human hair wig colours will fade, this is due to an oxidization process that happens in the environment, this will normally occur within the first few months of wear.
If colouring patch test first as the hair will take differently to colouring your own hair; note generally human hair can be darkened and not lightened due to previous hair processes.

I don’t have an appointment. Can I just walk into the store/salon?

No, we are appointment only at the moment! Please be advised that we always have appointment’s available with advance notice.

Do you ship worldwide?

Yes, free shipping is available within CAN and the US over $150. Anything outside of CAN and the US has a flat fee of $65 for ground shipping.

Do you carry naturally textured hair?

What is the price range of your wigs?

Our price ranges from $200-$3,000K. Please be advised that add-on services are usually needed for an additional cost (color, cut, sizing etc) Price varies on collection, length and quality of hair.


I have a non-Liberty hair piece that I would like to get serviced (color, repair, cut etc). Can a Liberty Hair specialist help me with it?


Yes, please call (343) 885-8328 or email us at booking@libertyhairshop.ca to check if the service you need requires a consultation.

How long will it take for my order to be shipped?

Once your order is placed, the item is shipped within 1-3 business days. If there are any setbacks or we’re behind on orders, a Liberty Hair team member will contact you with an estimated time/new updates.


Can I request expedited shipping?

We highly recommend that you call (343) 885-8328 or email booking@libertyhairshop.ca us when purchasing a wig that needs to be expedited or rushed. Additional cost will apply.


Can I use glue or taps on my wig?

Our wigs are made to not wear any adhesives. Some clients prefer to use tape as an extra grip, but it is not needed. Instead we also provide different wig grips to assist with this.

Do you offer wigs/ toupees for men?

Yes, We do carry wigs and toupees for men

Can I request my wig to be sized to my head?

No, we do not offer this services at the moment. Please contact us for more information at (343) 885-8328 or booking@libertyhairshop.ca.

Tracking your package: What is the status of my order?

Once your order is placed you will then receive a confirmation email and a separate email once it’s shipped with tracking information.

Do you accept insurance?

Yes, we do accept insurance. Please be advised that not all provincial healthcare plans in Canada provides coverage for medical wigs. These provinces DO NOT cover medical wigs: Ontario, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Nunavut, Newfoundland and Labrador and the Northwest Territories. How can I cancel my order?

Do you offer any kind of payment plans?

Yea, we do. Our payment plan is done through PayBright at the current moment.

What is your return policy?

We have a 3-day return policy, which means you have 3 days after receiving your item to request a return. To be eligible for a return, your item must be in the same condition that you received it, unworn/unused, with tags, and in its original packaging. To start a return, you can contact us at  info@libertyhairshop.ca. A 15% restocking fee on the original wig price applies on all returns.  Services like sizing, color, cut, thinning etc costs are not refundable. Once approved, your refund will be processed and automatically applied to your original method of payment. To avoid being charge 15% restocking fee, please review our exchange policy below.

What is your exchange policy?

You received your wig and it's not exactly what you imagined....NO WORRIES, EXCHANGES ARE FREE! Please contact us at info@libertyhairshop.ca to start the exchange process. Shipping is free of charge for all exchanges or returns for alterations. Exchanges can only be made if you return your wig within 3 business days from receiving. Must be unworn, with tags & original packaging.

What are your Terms for service on non-Liberty Hair wigs?

The Liberty Hairshop is not responsible or can be held liable for services done on non-Liberty Hairshop items. Due to the unknown origin of the non-Liberty Hairshop hair pieces we are not responsible for any unwanted end results/changes on your piece by services Liberty Hairshop offers. Be aware that we only work with Human Hair pieces. 

How long will my wig last?

The life span of our wigs depends on the care. The better care it gets the longer it will last. Regularly maintaining the wigs will also adds to longer life.
